For bringing in innovation, modernization and for facilitating the commuters the NHA has decided to incorporate digital technology a computerized transport and roads monitoring system comprising of nearly 100 LED screens. The screens have been installed at the National Highway Authority (NHA) head office.
The operations centres located at the NHA headquarters was visited by the NHA Executive Board headed by the Chairman of NHA—Jawad Rafique Malik.
These operations centers would monitor the toll plazas which are provided with Electronic Toll and Traffic Management (ETTM) systems via high-quality cameras and systems for ensuring that travelers should have all the needed facilities.
The digital system would also ensure that the Operation and Management Contractors (OMCs) are closely monitored for keeping all the lanes working 24 hours a day.
Lane closure reports on a daily basis are issued for making sure to provide ease to the road commuters. The data gathered from the modernised technologies is anticipated to assist in improving the decision making, analysis and finally boost the revenue.
The chairman of National Highway Authority on the occasion said that steps are being taken for the early completion of Lahore-Abdul Hakeem Motorway.
He further mentioned that the project is making use of the modern digital system which includes controlling the traffic accidents, marking of lanes and management and handling emergencies.
