NHA has started the tree plantation drive along the highways.
The National Highway Authority—NHA has marked 18th of August as the Plant for Pakistan Day and has arranged many plantation events throughout the country.
According to the Prime Minister’s vision and on the special instructions of the Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services—Murad Saeed, NHA observed 18th August as the “Plant for Pakistan Day” and marked the day as withstanding in unison with the Kashmiri brethren.
NHA has planted trees all along the national highways situated in the provinces of Gilgit Baltistan, KP, Sindh, Baluchistan and Punjab.
Regarding this, NHA has arranged 2 ceremonies in the Rawalpindi division. One was organized at the T-chowk near Rawat while the other was a joint ceremony held with the alliance of the Punjab Forest Department and Parks and Horticulture Authority—PHA at Kalyam on the G.T. Road near Mandra.
During the ceremony it was informed that one fourth area of the world comprises of forests. Trees not just keep the environment clean, green and healthy but also provides protection against the national disasters like land sliding, floods and other adverse effects of the changing climate.
On the other hand, ‘every person-2 tree’ campaign has been started in Gujranwala.
