For solving the increasing complaints of the train commuters, Pakistan Railways has taken the important measure for dealing with the situation.
The department has made the announcement that a train manager would be travelling on all the trains in the country who would be responsible for solving the problems faced and experienced by the passengers during their travelling.
As per a statement issued by the Pakistan Railways, the manager would be looking after the complaints about the issues regarding food, water and electricity.
The railway department has also launched a complaint number which would be receiving the complaints through the WhatsApp message from 9:00 am in the morning to 5:00 pm during the day.
For the facilitation of the passengers, one could call at 051-9221949 or send a fax at 051-9204793 in case of any lodged complaint, as informed by the statement released.
The decision has come at a time when the complaints of the railway’s passengers are increasing heavily, especially since after the summers have begun in Pakistan.
Previously, there were reports that the passengers of Jinnah Express—which is a recently inaugurated VVIP train operating between Lahore and Karachi, experienced anger and agitation of the passengers over the management when many of its coaches lost electricity and people started to suffocate in the hot weather.
In the same way, during the last week of March, Sheikh Rasheed—the Minister for Railways had to come out and apologize publicly for the late arrivals of trains.
