As per the news reports, the New Islamabad International Airport will be named after Liaquat Ali Khan. It will be called Liaquat Ali Khan International Airport. Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will inaugurate the airport on April 20th, 2018.
So the final name is finally decided and revealed. Also, a test flight will be conducted at the Liaquat Ali Khan International Airport tomorrow on April 7th. For the test flight, the staff has been shifted to the new airport temporarily. As per the sources PIA PK-785 international flight will land at the airport for a mock trial. Then the passengers of the plane will be dropped to the old Benazir Bhutto International Airport.
For the mock trial, 250 family members of PIA employees will come to the airport sharp at 8:45 am. They will go through all regular checkpoints on the airport from security check to the baggage check and then they will move towards custom counters for the boarding passes. Wheelchairs will be provided to sick and disabled passengers The whole trial will be conducted by Musharraf Rasool Cyan PIA Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Air traffic substantially will be increased as the New Liaquat Ali Khan airport will start operating providing more options to the passengers and the airlines. People will be able to enjoy better services and more facilities.
