Pakistan and its ally China decided to advance the development projects further in Gwadar and to make sure the pioneering of the New Gwadar Airport, hospital and a Technical Institute this year. Both the countries have agreed on developing the transport infrastructure projects.
Readjusting the objective of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), Pakistan has set new goals for the socio-economic and regional development under this extraordinary huge project.
Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar—the Minister for Planning, Development and Reform (PS&R) in a meeting with Ning Jizhe—the Vice Chairmen National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of China on Sunday said that this recent development would ensure a bright future for Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by Zafar Hassan, Hassan Daud, Secretary Planning, the Project Director of CPEC and the officials from NDRC as well the Chinese Embassy.
The Minister reaffirmed the present government’s commitment towards attaining CPEC goals, and categorically mentioned that all the efforts are to be made for the success of this project of economic development and prosperity, he further said that CPEC is a reality and indicates a bright future of Pakistan, targeted at starting a modern era of trade and economic development.
He also mentioned that new dimensions are being added to take the China Pakistan Economic Corridor project towards further betterment. Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar said that for acquiring the newly set targets, the government is focused to put in all energies for achieving progress at the earliest.
The Minister emphasized that the development of the special economic zones under CPEC has been advancing and investors across the world are motivated to come and invest.
The Gwadar airport would be meeting all the needs of the Gwadar deep sea port as part of the CPEC, which would be an airport of international standards. The airport would be capable of managing large passenger planes. The new international Gwadar airport is expected to be the biggest ever airport of Pakistan. It is anticipated that Gwadar would become an economic centre of the country, in light of that special stress is being given for the development of the new airport as it is expected to facilitate the movement of the international investors and visitors.
