Earlier today, the agricultural department of Punjab has launched an application that will help the farmers in getting financial assistance and subsidies for themselves. This new method is easy and hassle-free.
Previously, to claim the subsidy, all those farmers who were registered with the agricultural department use to open the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) application in order to enter a thirteen-digit code from a coupon which they used to find from inside a bag of the seed of fertilizers.
The farmers were having some issues logging into the PITB application and hence a new application came out which will provide them financial assistance in a much easier way.
Now, farmers can easily get their verification from the agricultural department and can claim their subsidy or assistance amount from HBL (Habib Bank Limited).
The Punjab government is giving Rs.500 aid per bag of DAP, Rs.500 on Mop, Rs.800 on SoP, and Rs.300 a single bag of Nitrophos.
On the other hand, the government is providing a subsidy of Rs.5000 per acre on the planting of canola and sunflower whereas Rs.2000 is being provided on Sesame cultivation.
Rs.2000 financial assistance is being given to the farmers for the cultivation of pulses and a wheat seed bag for Rs.1200.
Up till now, there 36,000 farmers in Multan who have claimed the subsidy.
