New Academic Year to Begin from June 1 in Sindh

The government of Sindh has issued a notice of Tuesday in which it provided the details of the decision taken by the steering committee about the academic 2020-2021 year policy.

As per the notice, the new academic year in all the public and private schools and colleges is to start from June 1 in Sindh while the academic year for the educational institutes following the Cambridge system will commence from the 1st of August.

As per the admission policy for the academic year 2020-2021, the admissions fro grade 9 and 10 will occur from the 1st of June until the 10th of June and the admissions for Intermediate will also take place in June. The admissions to intermediate will be granted on the basis of the results of 9th class and after the announcement of grade 10 results.

Furthermore, the students who are in grade 1 to 3 will be promoted based on their results of written examinations and annual exams of the students studying in grade 4 to 8 will be conducted from the 1st of June. The exam results will be announced on the 15th of June.

Besides, this the annual exams for grade 9 and 10 will begin on the 15th of June. The exams of intermediate students both first and second year will commence from the 6th of July and will be conducted in the evening shits as well.

All the educational boards of Pakistan will announced the grade 10 results by the 15th of August and the results of Intermediate’s second year by the 15th of September.

The results of 9 grade and first year intermediate will be announced sixty days after the announcement of grade 10 and second year intermediate results, respectively.

As per the issued notice, the summer holidays duration will be adjusted on account of the break given from the 16th of March until the 30th of May, while the winter break will start from the 20th of December and will last until the 31st of December.
