Nestle launches Pink KitKats made with Ruby Chocolate

Nestle is launching pink KitKats with Ruby Chocolate offering an “intense fruity taste”. UK customers in Europe will be the first one to experience the new Nestlé’s four-finger pink KitKat having ruby chocolate.

KitKat also becomes the first brand in the UK to launch a “naturally colored” new chocolate that is made from ruby cocoa beans which are found in Ivory Coast, Ecuador, and Brazil.

The biggest cocoa processor in the world, Swiss chocolatier Barry Callebaut made this chocolate. They spent almost ten years experimenting with the flavors and colors of the beans.

As per the company, the flavor of new KitKat is as “a tension between berry-fruitiness and luscious smoothness”. No colors or flavors are used to create the pinkish color. The colors come from a powder that was extracted during the processing. As per the creators of the chocolate, it is not as sweet as milk chocolate.

It is believed that the ruby chocolate is the first new natural color for chocolate after Nestle revealed white chocolate some 8 decades ago.

Ruby chocolate is a big innovation in confectionery and we are very proud that KitKat is the first major brand in the UK to feature this exciting new chocolate.”

Pablo Perversi, chief innovation, quality, and sustainability officer at Barry Callebaut, said, “I am very pleased to see the result of our partnership with Nestlé,  the iconic four-finger KitKat made with our ruby chocolate.
