The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has given a price surge of 10paisas per unit in the power tariff for the domestic consumers. The surge is because of the fuel cost adjustment for the month of May 2019.
The surge in power tariff came in the last week of the month of June, but the notification was given out today.
The surge in power tariff would put an additional surge of nearly Rs.1.2 billion on the consumers. But it would not be applied to the K-Electric consumers and agricultural consumers.
For the month of May, the regulatory authority had given approval for the hike of 53 paisa per unit in the fuel adjustment for the month of April.
