The former Prime Minister of Pakistan has been sentenced to jail for ten years over a corruption case regarding the purchase of luxury apartments in London. He was arrested and then transported to the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on the 13th of July.
Yesterday he was transferred to the nation’s top hospital after his health condition worsened owing to cardiac trouble in the highly secured Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.
Dr Ejaz Qadeer, some hours later suffered a heart attack and was immediately admitted at PIMS, Islamabad.
As per the hospital sources Dr Qadeer is already a heart patient and had a heart surgery earlier.
He was leading the team of medical experts which includes Dr Shaji Siddiqui—Medical Specialist, Dr Sohail Tanvir—Neurologist, Dr Naeem Malik—Cardiologist and Dr Mashood—who conducted the medical check-up of Nawaz Sharif after he complained of experiencing chest pain.
Nawaz Sharif’s health condition is stable, as per the hospital official. The decision to shift the ex-prime minister to PIMS was taken by the Punjab government which has got administrative controls over the Adiala jail after a team of medical experts suggested that Nawaz Sharif needs proper medication and monitoring as he has been suffering from acute pain in both of his arms, possibly due to the lack of blood circulation.
