National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reported that they have successfully dealt with 68.8% of corruption cases pending under their domain.
The chairman, Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal NAB, held a meeting where he appreciated his team and notified them that they have been performing hard to achieve their goals.
He further said that constant deliberations, monitoring, and performance analysis of the Prosecution Division have revealed that NAB enjoys one of the best conviction ratios.
It was also informed that the Operations and Prosecution Divisions of National Accountability Bureau were working closely in order to further improve the performance of all Regional Bureaus of the bureau in the conduct of complaint verifications, inquires, investigations, and also vigorous prosecution of cases on the basis of solid evidence in the respected courts as per law.
The meeting also highlighted that the Prosecution Division has been revamped by recruiting experienced legal consultants and special prosecutors. A mechanism of witness handling cells is also introduced in all the regional bureaus and the results of this intervention are very encouraging.
The meeting minutes also reported that the bureau was committed to the logical disposal of mega corruption white-collar crime cases which is a challenging task but NAB was determined to bring the corrupt to justice.
The chairman also added that NAB was absolutely committed to work transparently, fairly, professionally as Pakistan is believed to be a role model for SAARC countries in the eradication of Corruption due to NAB’s efforts and Pakistan’s Corruption Perception Index (CPI) according to Transparency International Pakistan Report.
NAB has also successfully recovered billions of rupees from various scamming projects. The department has worked honestly and returned the looted amount to the affectees.
