Following a security alert by the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), the Balochistan government has asked the PDM leaders to postpone their rally in the province.
In a recent message, the Balochistan government spokesperson Liaquat Shahwani told that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had already delayed their rallies. He further told that the government had no prior reservations:
We, on behalf of the Balochistan government, had announced earlier not having any reservations for the organization of a public gathering by PDM.Liaquat Shahwani
However, the recent security alert shouldn’t be taken lightly. The Balochistan government is of the view to postponing any rally by the PDM.
He further told media persons:
We have raised 28 points regarding the upcoming rally. The government will provide bullet-proof vehicles to PDM leaders. However, the responsibility of PDM leadership has also increased now.
Shahwani said that there isn’t only a threat of some terrorism activity but also a threat from coronavirus as most of the people would be coming outside from Balochistan.
He further added that the possible threat of terrorism is from TTP. NACTA warned the government as soon as they got this threatening information.
