Former Prime Ministers of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi have been summoned by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for the investigation into alleged importing of 34 bulletproof cars.
According to the details, all the 34 bulletproof cars were imported from Germany without the payment of customs duty on any of the cars.
An anti-corruption watchdog sent a notice to Shahid Khaqan Abbasi mentioning that the cars were imported ahead of the SAARC summit in 2016, and the cars were to be used by the diplomats.
The notice by the NAB further seeking response from former PM Abbasi that why those cars were used for the protocol of Sharif family.
It is pertinent to mention here that the investigation to get expand with the interrogation of former three-time prime minister Nawaz Sharif as well in the same case—based on an allegation that 20 of the 34 cars were used for the protocol of the members of Sharif family.
