NA Committee Wants NADRA to Ease CNIC Correction Process

CNIC Correction Process

On Thursday the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Interior suggested of establishing more National Database Registration Authority—NADRA centres throughout the nation for facilitating the public.

A meeting of the NA was held yesterday under the stewardship of MNA—Raja Khurram Shahzad Nawaz.

The committee suggested that NADRA set up a registration centre in the Ibraheem Haidri area of Karachi for facilitating the local population, especially the community of the fishermen residing there.

The committee discussed the problems experienced by the public in relation to the minor mistakes in the CNICs and showed the willingness of making the process simple.

It directed NADRA to surge the number of its registration centres for the better facilitation of general public.

NADRA gave a briefing to the committee on its working regarding to the Sehat Insaf Cards, saying that it is offering IT help in issuing the cards by the processing data received from the BISP and providing it to the State Life for further action.

Besides the bill captioned “the Pakistan Penal Code (Amendment) Bill” (Section 3), 2019 was cleared by the committee. One other bill “the National Courier Terrorism Authority (Amendment) Bill 2019″ was discussed and deferred until the next meeting.

Whereas, the remaining bills on the agenda were deferred until the next meeting owing to the absence of the movers.
