Qasim Suri—the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly has barred the use of the word “selected” for addressing Prime Minister Imran Khan.
During the session of the National Assembly, which was held on Sunday, Omer Ayub Khan—the federal minister for Energy protested that the PM was continuously getting referred to as “selected” in the house.
He went further and added that referring to the PM Khan as “selected” comes as a breach of the honour of the house as he is an elected representative.
While heading the session, the Deputy Speaker—Qasim Khan Suri placed a ban on the use of the word saying that each member has gotten into the house via votes of the general public and the word “selected” comes as an offence to the house.
He instructed that the members of the National Assembly should now avoid using the word in the house.
