The death toll has surged to 6, owing to a mysterious gas leakage incident in Karachi, precisely at the Kemari port area. More than 100 affected people were shifted to the many healthcare facilities of the city, as per the reports of local media.
As per the details, 6 people got dead because of the gas and many were hospitalized after they fell unconscious.
The initial reports claim that more than 25 people were affected by the poisonous gas that spread in the Jackson Market near the shipping port, local police and other law enforcement agencies of the area did a search operation, after a detailed search of the area, it was declared clear for the commuters after the initial release of the gas.

Pakistan Navy teams have also reached the spot on the appeal of the Federal Minister Ali Zaidi for assisting in conducting the rescue and relief operations.
The spokesperson of the Karachi Port Trust in a statement has claimed that reports regarding the gas being released by a recent ship that anchored down at the port of Kemari were not true.
He also said that there was no report so far of such a gaseous presence at the port.
Ali Zaidi tweeted on a micro-blogging site, that by the help of Allah Almighty, things were pretty much under control. And that the NBCD team is stationed and are inquiring the root cause of the poisonous gas.
The CM Murad Ali Shah has asked the Commissioner of Karachi police to submit a report on the matter on an urgent basis.
CM Sindh has also issued orders for ensuring the provision of the best healthcare facilities to the ones affected by the gas.
