Multan Railway Station Revenue Increases Significantly

The Multan Railways Station revenue has increased by Rs9.8million during the present financial year of 2018-19. The revenue earned is Rs77.9 million.

As per railway sources, Multan Cantt Station has earned Rs9.8million more revenue during the present financial year than it had earned during the previous fiscal year. The revenue earned during the last financial year was of Rs68million.

Multan Amir Daud Pota—the Divisional Superintendent (DS) Railways appreciated the staff performance and asked them to work diligently for bringing more improvement in the performance of the railways.

He added that the income of railway was being raised on a per day basis owing to the positive steps being taken by the department for ensuring maximum facilities are provided to the passengers.

The earning of the passengers, other coaches and parcels have been counted in the earned revenue, he informed.

Earlier, the Railways Minister—Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed announced about the launch of 20 more new trains in the coming year that is 2019.

The launching trains would be including 2 VVIP trains, which would have the food supplied by any of the 5-star hotels.

The railway’s minister encouraged the public to suggest names for the trains that are to be launched and added that upon the suggestion of a good name an award of Rs25,000 would be granted.

It is important to mention that ever since the new government of PTI has taken charge on a per day basis developments are being reported in the railway departments, may they be of special trains or reduced fares or student card facility or the launch of freight trains or new route trains. The efforts of the department are commendable, and it is expected that may this sector helps in bringing the economy towards betterment.
