1st Muharram-ul-Haram will be on Wednesday 12th September 2018 in Pakistan. This means that in Pakistan 9th and 10th Muharram holidays will be on September 20th, Thursday and September 21st, Friday.
Ashura in Pakistan will be on September 21st. Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee chaired by Mufti Muneeb has confirmed that in Pakistan Muharram will begin from Wednesday. Weather department officials assisted by committee members did not sight the moon nor did they receive any testimony about moon sighting on Monday.
During Muharram security will be upgraded and law enforcement authorities will take strict measures especially on 9th and 10th Muharram. Also, it is pertinent to mention here that pillion riding will be banned in all cities from Muharram 8 to 10. As of yet, there has been no notification regarding mobile phone suspension.
