Mufti Muneeb ur Rehman who is a prominent Islamic scholar has asked PM Khan to announce 3 days of Eid-ul-Azha as public holidays.
While addressing a press conference in Karachi, Mufti Muneeb said that the conventional Eid is a 3-day celebration.
The previous week, the federal government had made the announcement of a 3-day holiday from Friday that is the 31st of July to Sunday that is the 2nd of August, on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
As per the issued notification, Sunday makes the second day of Eid would be the last holiday while Monday would be the third day of Eid, which is notified to be a working day.
While addressing a press conference in Karachi, the religious scholar said that there is no dispute between science and ulema and that the ulema has also got the scientific knowledge.
He said that the meteorologists from the PMD were a part of the moon sighting decision making.
Previously, on Sunday the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has made the announcement to decrease the fares for all the domestic flights for the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. This decision has been made to facilitate travellers.
