The sale of motorcycles and three-wheelers have increased in the country during the first eleven months of the present financial year (2017-2018). The increase is by 16.18% in comparison to the sale witnessed during the July-May 2016-17.
The motorbikes sale has increased to seventeen lac forty-four thousand four hundred and sixty-three (1,744,463) units during July-May 2017-18 as compared to the previous recorded sale of fifteen lac one thousand three hundred and ninety-three (1,501,393) units in the same span of last fiscal year.
On a yearly basis, the motorcycles and three-wheelers’ sale in the country also increased to one lac sixty-nine thousand two hundred and ninety-eight (169,298) from one lac fifty-three thousand eight hundred and fifty-five (153,855) units during the same month last year, posting a hike of 10%.
As per the details shared by Pakistan Automotive Manufacturing Association (PAMA), the sale of Honda bikes has increased by 19.15% as it increased from eight lac eighty-eight thousand six hundred and forty (888,640) to ten lac fifty-eight thousand eight hundred and thirty-nine (1,058,839) units in the same period of last year.
Similarly, the production of Suzuki two-wheelers also reportedly increased by 17.5%, however, the DYL motorcycles registered a decrease in the sale by 21.68%.
The sale of Yamaha motorcycles also rose to nineteen thousand eight hundred and thirty-two (19,832) units in July-May 2017-18 from twelve thousand two hundred and sixty-two (12,262) units in the same period last year, hence registering an increase by 61%.
Ravi bikes also registered an increase in sales by 32.1%, whereas the Road Prince bikes sale decreased by 10%.
United Auto motorbikes also registered an increase in the sale of motorbikes from the previous year by 24.9%.
Sale of Qingqi three-wheelers—the cheapest mode of public transportation available for people witnessed a decrease in its sale from last year by 15.04%.
Sazgar three wheelers registered a slight increase in the sale by 1.32% as compared to last year sales.
