Pervez Khattak—Chief Minister has instructed early contracts to be given for putting all the mosques across the province on solar power.
The directives were issued by the Chief Minister while he was heading a meeting on the project of electrifying the mosques via solar energy. The meeting was held at the Chief Minister Secretariat, as per the statement released on Tuesday.

Solar Power is the conversion of the energy obtained from sunlight into electricity, either by using the photovoltaics (PV) or by using concentrated solar power or some mix of the two. The cost of the solar electricity is becoming cheap, also it is a low-carbon technology to make use of the renewable energy from the sun.
Engr Muhammad Naeem—Secretary Energy briefed the Chief Minister relating the process and procedure of equipping the mosques on solar power. He was told that the complete the process of giving contracts would be completed by the end of this month that is January and the project would reach completion by the end of May 2018.
Mr. Khattak instructed the concerned officials to share their dates and timelines with Sahibzada Saeed—the Head of the Strategic Support Unit and his principle secretary.
He also directed a strict monitoring of the project and its implementation so that all the mosques of the entire province would have an alternate arrangement for electricity if load-shedding continues in the coming summer season.
