More Than 7,000 Tons of Garbage Lifted on the 1st Day of Clean My Karachi Drive

More than 7,000 tons of garbage was lifted on the very first day of the clean My Karachi campaign.

Murad Ali Shah—the Chief Minister of Sindh has said that more than 7,000 tons of garbage was cleared on the first day of the drive.

While talking to media during his visit to the city along with the members of the cabinet he informed about this development.

Murad Ali Shah said that the second day began with the eradication of heavy stones and boulders from the 24 inches broad sewer line at Malir-15.

He also said that some people have made the claim that heavy stones were stuffed inside the manhole of 24 inches diameter line so that the complete Malir and Quaidabad area, which includes the main Shahrah-e-Faisal, could be converted into a pool of sewerage water.

The CM said that if the pace of lifting garbage at 7,152 tons per day, 214,560 toms of garbage would be cleared from the city in just 30 days.

He said that this is good speed and he appreciates the efforts put in by the administration, officers of the civic agencies and DMCs—District Management Corporation.
