Mohmand Dam

It was informed by the Supreme Court that the construction of Mohmand Dam is expected to reach completion by 2023.

Chief Justice Pakistan—Mian Saqib Nisar heading a five-member bench of the apex court has postponed the hearing case about the construction of the Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dams until Tuesday.

Faisal Vawda—the Minister for Water Resources and Muzammil Hussain—Chairman Water and Power Development Authority attended the court hearing session in today’s hearing.

The chairman WAPDA gave a briefing to the court regarding the progress and development on dam’s work. He informed to the court that the Mohammad dam would be completed by 2023.

Upon hearing this the chief justice responded by saying that the apex court is keeping a check on the construction of dams.

Mian Saqib Nisar also shared his sadness with the federal minister over not being told regarding the rescheduling of the Mohmand Dam pioneering.

The CJP remarked that they changed the data without even informing him, they did not consider it important to inform him. He further added that he might even not attend the inauguration ceremony of the Mohmand Dam now.

To this Faisal Vawda responded with an apology on behalf of the government and insisted the chief justice to attend the ceremony when it takes place.
