Modi’s government detains more than 300 Kashmiris for staging a protest

The barbarism by the Indian security forces in Indian-held Kashmir continues as more than 300 innocent Kashmiris were arrested after they staged a rally against the decision taken by the Government of India to revoke Article 370 of its Constitution.

According to the officials, the security forces arrested the Kashmiri people after a fight broke out between the participants of the protest and the police.

The arrested people were accused of violating the Section 144 imposed in the Indian Occupied Kashmir which prohibits the people from holding rallies across the mountainous valley, the officials added.

A leader of Rahul-led political party of India Congress, Nasir Hussain Munshi, said the Government of Indian is violating the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people.

“They are violating our right to expression. Today we took out a peaceful rally to protest against the revoking of Article 370, but were stopped from taking out the rally,” Congress leader added.

On 5th of August, Modi-led Government of Indian had revoked Article 370 which gives a special status to Indian Occupied Kashmir.
