Modi responds to Imran Khan's congratulatory message on Twitter

After winning the Lok Sabha polls in India, the newly elected Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan’s congratulatory message on the social networking platform Twitter.

Narendra Modi expressed gratitude and his desire to work for “peace and development” in the region (South Asia).

While quoting Imran Khan’s Tweet, Modi said, “Thank you PM @ImranKhanPTI. I warmly express my gratitude for your good wishes. I have always given primacy to peace and development in our region.”

Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan had reached out to Modi on the social networking website on Thursday to congratulate Modi and his political party Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for winning the elections.

The leaders of the both neighboring countries exchanges greetings on Twitter after Modi-led political party’s sweeping election results.

While congratulating, Imran Khan said, “I congratulate Prime Minister Modi on the electoral victory of BJP and allies. Look forward to working with him for peace, progress, and prosperity in South Asia.”
