Fawad Chaudhry—the Federal Minister for Science and Technology has made the announcement that the ministry would be setting up a DNA laboratory in Pakistan.
The announcement was made on Thursday. The minister further expressed that he has given advice to the ministry to set up the Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) laboratory which would be functional by March 2020.
The minister said that with the help of this laboratory anyone could get reports linked to their identity, colour, race, among other details related to them by submitting the needed fee to the lab.
Fawad Chaudhry while talking to a private news channel said that the future of Pakistan is in adopting modern technology and they have sped up the process of assimilating technology in every field of the country for competing with the 3rd world nations in this era of high technology.
He further said that the technology would assist in the economic and industrial growth of Pakistan and would help in bringing more revenue to the country.
The minister further said that by making collaborations with the Ministry of Education on science and technology school, they would make sure that modern technology is provided in all of the government institutes for making schools as the hub of knowledge.
The minister added that they have to support their tech firms and facilitate their future generation for acquiring scientific and technological education for meeting the recent requirements.
Earlier this week Fawad Chaudhry announced that the government would be providing loans for the execution of tech-based business ideas. By providing loans to people to go ahead with their technology -based ideas which in turn would boost the start-up ecosystem in Pakistan.
Furthermore, the government is also planning to set up a new University of Emerging Sciences at the PM House with financial aid from China.
