Minister Says No Promotion This Year Without Exams

Murad Raas-the Punjab Education Minister has said that there would be no promotion to the next grade this year without examination.

As per the shared details, exams would be conducted in May this year, the minister said this while he was addressing a press conference in Lahore. He also said that the COVID-19 pandemic has affected the studies of the students.

The educational institutions had been shut for a span of 6 months during the first wave of the virus and almost for 2 months during the second wave. He added that the government started online classes to minimalize the loss of students.

The minister also mentioned that the schools have been granted permission to operate only with 50 percent capacity and with strict adherence to the COVID-19 related SOPs.

He asked students to ensure that their fees are submitted and said that many students left the schools after the pandemic situation developed.

Murad Raas also said that a drive is being introduced at the federal level to learn about the actual number of students who left their studies during the epidemic.
