Minister Promises to Transform Pakistan Railways

Muhammad Azam Khan Swati-the Railways Minister has promised to transform the Pakistan Railways in order to overcome the losses incurred by the department and to make use of all the resources.

As per the shared details, he expressed these views while presiding over a meeting at the Karachi divisional superintendent’s office.

During the meeting, the divisional superintendent briefed Swati about his division’s performance, with special focus on freight services and the revival of Karachi Circular Railway (KCR). The divisional superintendent also informed the minister about the current court cases, particularly those pertaining to encroachments, in which the railways department was a party.

Addressing the meeting, Swati said, “The railways have unlimited potential, which, if utilised properly, can usher in a new era of economic prosperity and vitality.”

He highlighted the need to ensure punctual arrival and departure of trains, which, the minister said, would improve the Pakistan Railways’ perception in the public.

The minister added that all railways officials should focus on and work towards the achievement of the Pakistan Railways’ fiscal targets.
