Mian Muhammad Aslam Iqbal-the Minister of Punjab for Industries, Commerce, and Investment has given assurance of cleaning the roads of Lahore until the 15th of January.
As per the shared details, the provincial minister has met Chief Minister of Punjab (CM) Sardar Usman Buzdar and informed him about the steps being taken to clean the city.
He said that 85 percent of garbage has been removed from the roads of the metropolis with the help of 40 percent of machinery.
CM Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar had given a 48-hour ultimatum to officials to remove waste from the streets of the provincial capital.
Usman Buzdar, while chairing a high-level meeting, shared displeasure on the waste management situation of Lahore and said that the entire city has been turned into a trash bin.
He asked all departments to jointly work to clean Lahore and submit report after monitoring the situation through the CCTV camera of Safe City Authority. He warned that any negligence will not be tolerated in this regard.
During the meeting, the chief minister was informed that out of 25,000 tonnes of waste, 20,000 has already been lifted. Usman Buzdar directed concerned officials to remove the remaining 5,000 tonnes within two days or face strict action.
