Mohammad Mian Soomro—the Federal Minister for Privatisation and Aviation has said that the government is interested in extending all possible support for reviving PIA. He added that the government would be giving all needed assistance for making the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) a viable entity.
He added that the national flag carrier is progressing in the right direction and the government would be providing all the needed support for its revival.
As per a press release issued on Sunday, the minister visited the PIA head office and the chief of the airline—Air Marshal Arshad Malik gave a briefing on the airline’s performance.
He said that the national flag carrier has got great potential and it could regain its lost share in the market. He also said that for competing in today’s market it is essential to make the best use of both service and technology. Customers should be the main focus.

He also emphasized on taking the strict measures in the airline and applauded the steps taken by the management.
The PIA president, CEO and the Air Marshal all of them appreciated the minister of the present management initiatives like the reopening of routes, improvement in food services, plans of adding new destinations for increasing the airline’s network, cost savings and scheduling.
He added that things are going towards betterment and work is being done on the convenience of schedule and opening up of new destinations.
