Microsoft’s latest app will let you easily transfer your photos from phone to PC over WiFi

Microsoft has recently developed an app called ‘Photos Companion’. With the help of this app, you can easily transfer the photos in your mobile device to your Windows 10 pc over WiFi.

According to Microsoft, the ‘Photo Companion’ was created to help kids get images and other content from their multiple devices into one project PC, from which they want to present their multimedia presentation. Because, before the launch of the app in 2017, the app product team has conducted visits to the various European and US classrooms to see how teachers shared the content which is in their mobile device to the classroom PC, and to encourage them to use the app for this purpose.

With the help of Photos Companion app on your Android or iOS devices, you just need to scan a code on your Windows 10 Photos app. After scanning the code successfully you need to select the media type you to transfer to the PC.

The rest of the process takes place over your WiFi connection. This app is alternative to something like AirDrop, but AirDrop only works on Apple devices.

Although this app was created mainly for the students and educators, it’ll likely be useful for anyone who wants to get their mobile’s media onto a PC without having to find a cable to transfer the data.

The app is available for both Android and iOS devices.
