The Met Office has said that the post-monsoon season in Pakistan is to start earlier than usual this year.
As per an official of the Met Department the post-monsoon rains in the nation normally start from the 16th of July every year, but, this year the season is likely to commence from late June, hence decreasing the rising temperature across Pakistan.
The official also said that presently, the areas of South Punjab and upper Sindh are experiencing the heatwave. The weather however will be getting better in the days to come and the credit for that goes to the winds that blow after rain.
He also said that the current monsoon would be entering the Bay of Bengal, and will offer a relief from the heat, and added that the month of June would mostly witness heat.
On the other hand, the National Disaster Management (NDMA) has given an advisory for thunderstorms and heavy rains in the Northern areas and upper parts of Punjab. It also said that the new spell of rains was expected from late Thursday and will be staying until Tuesday.
