Dr. Mohammad Saleh bin Taher Benten, the Minister for Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia has called his counterpart Pir Dr. Noorul Haq Qadri in Pakistan and has officially informed him that the Kingdom has taken the decision of holding Hajj 2020 this year with a limited number of pilgrims.
Noorul Haq Qadri tweeted that the government of Saudi Arabia would only be permitting its citizens and the valid Iqama holders to perform the annual ritual of Hajj this year keeping the present pandemic situation in consideration.
It was further informed by the Saudi minister that the decision was taken to curb any further spread of the highly contagious virus that has affected all the countries across the world.
In the meantime, an emergency meeting has been called of the Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony for discussing the situation that has risen after the decision of the Kingdom of holding Hajj 2020 with a limited number of pilgrims and that too would be the ones residing within Saudi Arabia.
The meeting would be strategizing some plan to return the money of the pilgrims who earlier registered themselves for Hajj under the government scheme.
