Meesha Shafi Failed to Appear in Court—Another Legal Notice Issued

Today morning, the session court in Lahore held its second hearing on the Meesha Shafi and Ali Zafar case. Ali Zafar has filed a defamation case against Meesha that she has accused him of sexual harassment charges for her personal gain.

At the first hearing session that took place on the 25th of June 2018, Meesha Shafi was asked to submit a response to the defamation accusations. But, the female singer failed to appear in the court for issuing her statement.

As per the court orders, a notice would soon be displayed outside Meesha Shafi’s house asking her to present herself before the court with a response on the 13th of August 2018. The ruling of today’s proceedings was passed by the sessions judge—Shahzad Ahmed.

Ali Zafar stated earlier that Shafi had falsely blamed him for sexual harassment charges. As per the petition issued by the Channo singer which reads that Shafi’s fake allegations got her temporary fame, however, smudged his reputation throughout the entire world. The court is requested to impose a fine of rupees one billion on her as a compensation for all the damages done.

According to reports, Meesha Shafi is presently out of Pakistan.

Ever since the Aya Lariye singer accused Ali Zafar of sexually harassing her many a times on various occasions on social media, women belonging to different backgrounds have come forward and narrated their experiences of sexual harassment with the Chal Dil Mere singer. Ali Zafar after the allegations took it to social media and responded by declining all the allegations made by the lady singer. He also mentioned for taking the matter to court which he apparently did.
