McDonald’s is facing backlash for serving Halal meat in India. An international food chain that keeps in mind the needs and requirements of the people, thus serving Halal meat in India, is being criticized for it.

So it all started when a Twitterati asked McDonald’s India whether their restaurants are Halal certified or not to which McDonald’s India replied “Thank you for taking the time to contact McDonald’s India. We truly appreciate this opportunity to respond to your comments. The meat that we use, across our restaurants, is of the highest quality and is sourced from government-approved suppliers who are HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) certified.”

Adding, “All our restaurants have HALAL certificates. You can ask the respective restaurant Managers to show you the certificate for your satisfaction and confirmation.”

Indians who should have appreciated McDonald’s for understanding the needs of the Indian Muslims as well started criticizing it.

One of the users said, “McDonald’s we Hindus want jatka meat. I don’t want to eat needlessly cruel halal meat. What option do I have? Or should I not eat at McDonald’s?”

Pakistanis have responded to this criticism as one of the Twitter user taught a lesson to Hindus and said, “Dear Indians, if you are trending #boycottmcdonalds because their meat is HALAL, please boycott water, fruits, and all the vegetables too because they’re also HALAL.”
