Wasim Akhtar—the Mayor of Pakistan’s most populated city Karachi said that as many 150 people are bitten by the stray dogs in Karachi every day.
Mayor Karachi told this while talking to the media reporters during his visit to the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry.
Wasim Akhtar said that the residents of Karachi were being affected by the incidents of dogs bite. “Is it also my fault that there are no anti-rabies vaccines available all over Sindh, including Karachi?” he questioned.
The mayor further urged the trade fraternity to help resolve the problems facing the people of Karachi, expressing that the federation and the province wouldn’t empty their coffers to address the problems in Karachi.
Wasim Akhtar further admitted that PPP-led provincial government of Sindh issued Rs2.5 billion during the period of last fiscal year for the development works in Karachi but didn’t explain where the funds were spent.
