Master Motors Launches First Locally Assembled Changan Vehicle

Master Motors has launched the first locally assembled Changan vehicle. It is a mid-sized van Karvaan. The vehicle was launched in the 1st unit roll-off ceremony held on May 2nd, 2019.

Basically, Changan Karvaan is a minivan. It has the capacity to provide space to 6 people. The engine of the minivan is 1.0-liter 4-cylinder OHC and it is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission system. The maximum power it can produce is 68 hp at 6000 rpm and 92 Nm of torque at 4800 rpm.

It operates on a multi-point fuel injection system principle. The automaker has used MacPherson struts in the front suspension to enhance the comfort level.

The exterior features of Karvaan include LED headlights, fog lamps, dual-wing chrome radiator grille, LED tail lamps, 14-inch alloy rims, rear sliding door, side mirrors with a wide-angle view, and standard tires 165/70 R14.

The color of the minivan is space grey cosmetic equipped with an ergonomically positioned steering wheel. The interior and safety features of the vehicle include fabric seats, foldable 3rd-row seats, additional cargo space, monochromatic blue meter cluster, air-condition with climate control, four air ducts, FM radio and AUX connectivity, driver seat belt reminder alert, and front disc brakes.

The completely built units (CBU) of Karvaan are being sold by the authorized Changan dealerships. Now the assembly plant of the company has assembled the first local unit of the vehicle.

It is pertinent to mention here that Master Motors partnered with a Chinese automaker to set up a vehicle assembly plant in Karachi. It has the capacity to produce around 30,000 vehicles annually.
