The problem with PTCL internet started originally by Friday night, the service was little down at that time with some slow speeds and occasionally disconnecting, the massive internet outage started around 8:00 am in the morning on Saturday.
PTCL internet problem occurred due to broken Submarine Cable near Jeddah which is responsible to provide internet connectivity and bandwidth across the country.
Initially, when the problem was identified, PTCL GM and Chief Business Development Officer said, “the international consortium has started working on cable repair and they have allocated additional bandwidth from international partners to keep this going.”
PTCL also announced 13 hours ago that “they have successfully managed to attach additional bandwidth from international cable systems and partners and things are getting better now.”
Islamabad International Airport
But the things are getting even worse; systems at Islamabad international airport according to the sources are down. Eight flights have been canceled so far and passengers are facing difficulties.
Check-in and other airport processes are badly affected because all are internet powered services.
ATMs, Internet Banking and other Public services
Many consumers reported problems in withdrawing cash from ATMs; the whole banking system is also crippled due to dead slow PTCL internet. Internet banking, on the other hand, is not working, online transactions in Pakistan came down to ground having little or no online transactions.
While, PTCL says they will fix the problem in the next 24 hours, but there are still doubts on the statement, it is advised that you should get prepared for the problems ahead and find alternatives to the internet service you normally rely on.
