The Margalla Hills of Islamabad might get a chairlift.
As per the ministry of wildfire, they are considering a chairlift facility for the tourists. The advantages of this would be double, as the people would be able to visit the area and get a great view and they would also stop making use of the cars.
The environmental experts have also liked and lauded the idea. On a regular basis, five thousand cars cross the foothills of the Margalla. The officials of the federal capital want to protect the hills and the national parks of the city.
The chairperson of the Islamabad Wildlife Management Board—Dr Anees-ur-Rehman said that they hope to install a chairlift here so that the people should stop using the road. He added that the people who want to see the Margalla National park would also be getting a better view.
As part of the proposal, a special bus service for the tourist would also be commenced ahead from Daman-e-Koh.
The ministry still needs to decide how the employees of the National Park would be getting to the park. The decision would be made after discussing it with them.
