In a recent incident on Tuesday reported by the local media outlet, Fire at Margalla Hills Islamabad erupted again at two locations including behind Saidpur Village and Daman-e-Koh Picnic point.
“Our teams are working to extinguish the fire as soon as possible; we have cleared the major area so far, said CDA spokesperson Malik Saleem. However, he was unable to find the cause of the fire. But he said generally the fire breaks out due to the human error in this season.
During this month, this is the fourth time when Margalla Hills was struck with fire, on March 30 the first big fire of the season damaged the hills severely. The officials of the environment wing and the emergency services of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) were on their toes for two days combating the fire.
Four helicopters from Defence authorities and cabinet division were called for rescue to put out the flames. This is another fire incident at Margalla Hills, authorities should take more control over this issue and spread awareness among the visitors.
According to CDA reports as many as 320 fire incidents have been recorded so far in Margalla Hills Islamabad during the last 17 years. Due to these incidents over 500 acres of area covered by trees was damaged.
