Malir River Flooding causes closure of Korangi Crossing Road


This morning, the Malir River flooded due to rainfall therefore the Korangi crossing road in Karachi has been closed for the traffic.

As per the reports of ARY News, the Korangi walkway has been closed for vehicular traffic.

The traffic going towards Gudam Chowrangi has been diverted to Jam Sadiq Bridge, said the traffic police. Moreover, the traffic police updated that the traffic from Baloch Colony has been diverted towards Qayyumabad.

All the citizens have been suggested by the traffic police department to take alternate routes in order to prevent the hassle.

Due to the rainfall in Karachi, the water level of the Malir River increased and swept the filter wall of the Malir spillway.

Now, the area has been flooded with water posing threat to the citizens living in that area and also to the industrial area.

The Korangi road was blocked earlier by the police because of the increasing water level in the river.

Still, Karachi and many other parts of Sindh are receiving heavy rain continuously today (Tuesday).

Many areas of Sindh including; Karachi, Mirpurkhas, Jamshoro, Tando Muhammad Khan, Badin, Hyderabad and Nawabshah are receiving thundershowers.

Heavy rain has been recorded in a few areas of Karachi including; North Karachi, Lyari, Surjani, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Gulistan-e-Johar, Shah Faisal Colony, Korangi, Defence, Landhi, Malir, Alfalah, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Manzoor Colony.
