LUMHS Campus shuts down as 17 Staff Members Contracted Coronavirus


On Friday, seventeen staff members of the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) contracted the novel coronavirus after which the university campus has been closed till December.

As per the reports, LUMHS medical university in Jamshoro carried out COVID-19 tests on 200 of its workers out of which seventeen tested positive.

According to the Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, coronavirus cases are increasing day by day. As per the daily tally, on Friday, the province reported 822 new coronavirus cases.

The chief minister stated while briefing on the virus tally that after carrying out 10,641 tests, Sindh reported 822 COVID-19 within 24 hours.

He further added that in the last twenty-four hours, 4 people died due to the virus whereas 322 recovered at the same time. Moreover, while sharing the figure of the patients which are serious condition, CM Sindh said that 37 patients are put on ventilators.

Murad Ali Shah alarmed about the rising cases of coronavirus in Karachi. Out of 822 new COVID-19 cases in Sindh, 621 were reported from the port city.
