On Thursday, the smart lockdown in eighteen more areas of Peshawar KPK capital has been extended further as the COVID-19 cases were increasing in those areas.
The Chief Secretary of Khyber PK received a report according to which, in total 126 COVID-19 patients have been reported from those eighteen affected areas whereas 43, 300 people are confined inside their homes.
As per the report, 144 areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are under smart lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
On Wednesday, six people died in the province due to COVID-19. Now the total death toll in Khyber PK has reached 1,120.
The statics released by the provincial health department show that in the past twenty-four hours, 216 new coronavirus cases have been reported in the province which raised the total count of COVID-19 to 31, 217 in KPK.
In Peshawar, the local administration on 30th June asked to lift up the smart lockdown from 2 areas including Shinwari Town and Union Council Aasia.
The same day, Mardan’s Deputy Commissioner announced to lift up the lockdown from 5 areas including Daman-e-Koh, Jan Abad, Katlang, Bijli Ghar, and Sector A. The lockdown lifted up as there were no new cases reported from these areas.
