A petition to permanently ban TikTok in Pakistan has recently been delayed by the Lahore High Court (LHC). The petition was initiated by Advocate Nadeem Sarwar and the ruling was announced by Justice Shahid Waheed
The court has given the petitioner some time to prepare his arguments in favor of his plea.
Advocate Nadeem Sarwar stated that TikTok is damaging the youth of the country in a number of ways. Some use it to waste their precious time while others use it to spread vulgarity.
The claimant also stated that there have been several incidents where this app is used to blackmail and harass others.
In light of his findings, the advocate has requested the authorities to permanently ban this app.
It is also important to mention that earlier TikTok was banned by PTA for the company favoring the authority and had low control over objectionable content
