The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry LCCI has launched Classified Trade and Industry Directory on Wednesday covering a large business and trade data.
The launch of the directory was announced by president LCCI Malik Tahir Javed along with Senior vice president LCCI, Khawaja Khawar Rasheed, and Vice-president Zeshan Khalil.
The Classified Directory of Trade and Industry
The directory consists of a vast range of industry and trade data including the data of 3837 manufacturers, 6860 importers, 3889 exporters, 3245 traders and 44 indenting agents.
The directory covers 72 major business sectors which are broken down to 473 sub-sectors. The directory will help the business sector to serve as the essential reference for local businesses as well as foreign companies who are looking for collaboration with local companies.
According to the president LCCI, the directory has been designed to help entrepreneurs to learn more about businesses operating in Pakistan. Also, the new directory will help the business community to involve more in business activities and economic development of the country.
Pakistan is a developing economy and requires appropriate measures to ensure the development and growth of the economy, the new business directory is just the one step forward.
The business confidence index of Pakistan has been dropped to 14 percent according to OICCI survey, reported in May this year. However, Pakistan has improved much during the last 5 years in ease of doing business, there are still many problems related to industry growth which have to be tackled to grow the economy at the desired rate.
