Lawyers Protest Against Demolition of Chambers in Islamabad Court, according to the sources, Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Athar Minallah is confined in his chamber.

The CDA demolished the illegal chambers set up in the premises of the District and Sessions Court Islamabad and the court premises late last night after which the lawyers chanted slogans within the High Court premises this morning.

According to sources, the Special Security Police was not present when the lawyers came to the Chief Justice Block of the Islamabad High Court, while the Islamabad Police contingent came to the High Court a long time later. Sources said that the Islamabad Police contingent is currently present in the Chief Justice Islamabad High Court block while Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Athar Minullah is confined in his chamber.

Protesting lawyers also chanted slogans against Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Atharminallah, while journalists also insulted journalists. They had to fight with journalists for making footage of the incident. According to sources, the entrances of the Islamabad High Court are currently closed, lawyers and clerks have been barred from entering, and the service road leading to the Islamabad High Court has also been closed.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani has offered the lawyers to sit in the bar room. Justice Kayani said that if they do not sit and talk then the problem will not be solved. He asked the protesting lawyers to remove their colleagues from the chamber of Chief Justice Islamabad so that they could talk. If the lawyers feel that they have been abused, they should sit down and tell us.
