The National Highway Authority (NHA) has announced on Wednesday to open the newly built Lahore-Sialkot motorway (M-11), as per the reports of local media.
The distance between the two cities of Punjab would be decreased from three hours to only fifty minutes.
The motorway has got 7-interchanges, 8-flyovers, 18-underpasses and 20-bridges. The M-11 motorway cost Rs.43.85 billion.
The opening ceremony of the motorway was annulled amid of the coronavirus outbreak.
Previously in the month of January, the first section of Lahore-Sialkot Motorway has been opened for public traffic.
The ISPR has informed that the construction of the motorway by the Frontier Works Organization (FWO) would be reducing the travelling time to fifty minutes only.
The motorway would also be decreasing the traffic burden on the GT Road as well as on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M2).
On the other hand, referring to the latest epidemic that has affected the entire world, PM Khan has said that the coronavirus outbreak would be destroying the economy of the developed nations.
He was of the opinion that the wealthier nations should waive off the loans to the poor nations for helping them in controlling the menace of the COVID-19.
