In order to provide ease to the passengers, Pakistan Railways is all ready to run a Lahore-Faisalabad non-stop train from the 1st of October.
The train would be beginning its first journey from Lahore at 8 am in the morning and would be reaching Faisalabad at 10 am, as informed by an official of the Ministry of Railways. The train to be introduced is part of the government’s hundred day-plan.
He further informed that the non-stop train would be departing from Faisalabad at around 2:30 pm and would then reach Lahore at 4:30 pm.
The official said that Sheikh Rasheed—the Federal Minister for Railways had already made an announcement for running three new trains on an immediate basis for improving the department of railways.
The three new trains include the Rohi Express, Lahore-Faisalabad and Mohenjo Daro, he further informed.
The official further said that the Rohi Express and Mohenjo Daro trains would be starting its journey from the 16th of October. The Mohenjo Daro express would be travelling to Larkana, Jamshoro and Sevan Sharif, while the Rohi Express would be travelling to Rahim Yar Khan, Ghotki, Pano Aqil, Khanpur, Darki and Sadiqabad.
Previously, Sheikh Rasheed gave instructions to the Pakistan Railways to start charging the dam fund surcharge from the 25th of September. The amount of the surcharge was defined to be rupees one, rupees two and rupees ten. The amount of surcharge would be applied on the tickets categorized in the business and economy classes.
