The Lahore High Court (LHC) has placed a ban on the use of plastic bags at the hotels and stores in the provincial capital.
During a hearing session on Friday, the court gave the shops and hotels 2 weeks to phase out the plastic bags.
In the next phase, the court intends to ban the use of plastic bags in other cities of Pakistan as well.

The judges asked the firm representatives when they would stop the production of plastic bottles.
The Wildlife Department of Punjab has given assurance that the order would soon be implemented.
On the part of LHC, it is indeed a good decision. If companies and people also follow the orders properly without any cheating then this decision would prove good for the environment.
Use of plastic and its related products is not good for human health and even for animals. There had been news in the past pertaining to the deaths of animals both land and marine because of choking on some plastic bag.
On the other hand, as per the latest development, PM Khan would be inaugurating 5 major projects in the city of lights tomorrow.
