KPK province is right at the top in district education rankings. Haripur district of KPK had the best education score in comparison to all other districts in Pakistan.
For middle schools, Malakand district secured the highest ranking with its great infrastructure and amazing facilities.
Alif Ailaan education campaign announced these in the fifth annual district education rankings. The performance of the districts in education was assessed via official government data from across the country and data from the State of Education (ASER).
The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Muhammad Atif Khan was delighted with the performance of education departments in the province and he said that the KPK government want to take education ahead in the province and improve its quality further.
In the infrastructure category for primary schools, KPK was again right at the top followed by Punjab and Islamabad.
The report further revealed that among the ten performing districts in electricity availability in Pakistan, eight are from KPK. Five out of ten districts that have the highest score for drinking water availability in schools, are in KPK. Six out of top ten districts having toilet availability in schools in Pakistan are in KPK. Furthermore, six out of ten districts where schools have a boundary wall are also in KPK.

Atif Khan said, “The basic problem in education was political interference and governance and once the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government addressed that seriously, the result is visible in the report.”
Introduction of the biometric system has controlled the absenteeism of teachers. Also, those teachers who did not perform their duties properly were punished and hard-working teachers were rewarded.
